Hunt entry data and consent handling
This notice explains what the site collects when someone submits a hunt entry, how those records are used to administer the Promotion, and how newsletter consent stays separate from sweepstakes consent.
This Privacy Notice applies to scavenger hunt entries submitted through ouriowacity.com/hunt and ouriowacity.com/enter. It is specific to Promotion administration and should be read together with the Official Rules.
1. Information we collect
- Full name
- Email address
- State of residence for AMOE submissions
- Optional social handle
- Uploaded mission evidence or social post URL evidence
- Business, mission, and bonus-code references connected to the entry
- Rules acceptance, privacy acknowledgment, version metadata, and acceptance timestamps
- Newsletter opt-in status when separately selected
2. How we use that information
We use entry information only to administer the Promotion, verify compliance with the Official Rules, contact entrants and winners, maintain required records, review duplicate-limit issues, and support internal audit and verification needs.
If you separately opt in to the Our Iowa City newsletter, we may also use your email address to send newsletter communications. Newsletter enrollment is optional and is never bundled with sweepstakes consent.
3. Uploaded evidence and social evidence
Uploaded mission photos and social post links are stored so Sponsor can verify mission completion, resolve disputes, and maintain an auditable record of Promotion compliance. We do not sell uploaded content or entry information.
If you submit social-media-based evidence, you are responsible for ensuring that the post visibly includes either #OurIowaCitySweepstakes or Entered in @OurIowaCity sweepstakes on the post itself.
4. Sharing
We may share entry information only with service providers, prize providers, legal counsel, or governmental authorities when reasonably necessary to administer the Promotion, verify compliance, fulfill prizes, or comply with law.
5. Record retention
We retain Promotion records for as long as reasonably necessary to administer the Promotion, resolve verification questions, comply with legal obligations, and maintain the winner records required by Iowa law for qualifying prizes.
6. Newsletter choice
Newsletter consent is separate and optional. If you opt in, you may unsubscribe at any time using the unsubscribe link provided in newsletter emails.
